Tunnels Beaches

Just at the end of the road, only a 5 min walk, you'll find Tunnels Beaches. The Victorians carved a tunnel through the cliff to reach the beach beyond, where they created wonderful tidal bathing pools carved out of the rocks. This has so much to offer - a beach, tidal pools (safe for inflatables), sun loungers to hire and a great history to explore. Please note the sand here is grey rather than golden. Check the tide times, when the tide is in the bathing pool is covered. I'd also go later on in the morning / midday as the sun is hidden behind the cliff early on. It does get lovely evening sun, and is great for watching the sunset.
