Ilfracombe

Ilfracombe is a pretty, Victorian seaside town and is very worthy of a day spent wandering its streets and exploring the coastline. Download a treasure hunt (www.treasuretrails.co.uk) - perfect for families. Visit Ilfracombe Museum (www.ilfracombemuseum.co.uk) for a wonderful history of the town, and many fascinating artefacts. Walks the paths that zig zag up the hills of Ilfracombe for magnificent views over the town, and enjoy a glass of wine at Damien Hirst's restaurant overlooking the harbour.

There's numerous seaside gift shops, some great art galleries and superb coffee shops. We enjoy just sitting in the harbour.  In addition Ilfracombe has many festivals and yearly events - such as Victorian Week in June, Ilfracombe Art Trail in May - http://artilfracombe.co.uk/, Birdman Festival in August and the Maritime Festival in September.
